Two entries deserve a note. Hi-Lo is the only game here where your choice changes the edge: it is lowest on extreme cards (Ace, 2, Queen, King) and worst on the central cards โ€” 6, 7 and 8 โ€” where the probability is near a coin flip and the payout can hide roughly 2%. Mines is the least transparent, because the edge is spread across the whole multiplier ladder rather than stated once.

Why Almost Everything Is 1%

It is not generosity. These games are cheap to build, cost nothing per round to run, and are played at enormous volume. A 1% edge on a game someone plays four hundred times an hour earns more than a 5% edge on a game played sixty times an hour.

The flat number also serves a marketing purpose: it is a genuinely verifiable claim, and it contrasts sharply with a slot machine where the RTP is usually not displayed at all. That contrast is real โ€” but it is a statement about the per-bet cost, not the per-hour cost, and those are very different numbers.

Dice works the same way as Mines in principle: the true fair multiplier on a 49% win chance would be 2.04ร—, and the game pays 1.98ร—. The difference is the entire cost of playing.

Why a 1% Edge Costs More Than Slots

This is the part that almost nobody writes down, and it is the reason a "cheaper" game can empty a bankroll faster.

House edge is a percentage of total amount wagered, not of your deposit. What determines your hourly cost is edge multiplied by how much you wager per hour โ€” and crypto originals are built for speed. One-click rounds, no animations to sit through, and autobet running hundreds of rounds per minute.

The arithmetic: at $1 per drop and 1,200 drops an hour, a 1% Plinko edge extracts roughly $120 per hour on average. A slot machine at 6% edge, $1 per spin and 600 spins an hour costs $36. The game with six times the edge costs a third as much, because it is played six times slower.

So the honest framing is this: crypto originals are the cheapest games in the casino per bet, and among the most expensive per hour. If you use them the way they are designed to be used โ€” fast, with autobet โ€” the low edge is entirely cancelled by the volume.

Read that table carefully. A 1% crypto original is cheaper per bet than every traditional game except blackjack played with a memorised strategy chart โ€” and it requires you to learn nothing at all. That is a real, defensible advantage, and it is the strongest argument these games have.

It is also the entire argument. Nothing about a 1% edge makes the game profitable, and nothing about it protects you from the speed problem above.

What to Check on Your Platform

Is the keno pay table crypto or lottery? A crypto keno at 1โ€“4% and a lottery-style keno at 25โ€“30% look identical on screen. The pay table is the only difference, and it is a factor of ten.

One caution worth repeating: provably fair proves the casino did not manipulate a specific outcome. It says nothing about whether the house edge is reasonable. A provably fair game with a 10% edge is provably fair and still a bad bet.
