How a Live Studio Actually Works
Providers such as Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Playtech run dedicated studios โ physical rooms with real tables, dealers on shift, and broadcast infrastructure.

The dealer doesn't settle anything. Cards are read by machine, results are transmitted by the control unit, and payouts happen automatically. A dealer wanting to cheat would have to defeat optical recognition on camera, in front of thousands of simultaneous viewers.
Why It's the Hardest Format to Rig
The economics make no sense. A studio like Evolution serves hundreds of casinos and is a publicly listed company. Manipulating one table would risk every licence and every client contract, to gain a fraction of a percent on a game already engineered to profit. The incentive runs entirely the other way.
There's also a practical check available to you: thousands of players watch the same physical table simultaneously. Any discrepancy between what's dealt and what's paid would be reported within minutes, by many people, with recordings.
What Actually Costs You Money
Here's the part that matters. The main game is usually fine. The circles beside it are not.

Live game shows are the expensive corner of the studio. Wheel-based formats with bonus rounds and multipliers typically run 5% to over 10% โ several times the cost of the table games in the same lobby. They're built for entertainment value, and priced accordingly.
Note also that live blackjack tables are where 6:5 payouts have quietly spread. That single rule adds about 1.39% โ more than any manipulation would. Check the payout before you sit.

Live dealer's genuine benefit isn't fairness โ it's speed. Or rather, the lack of it.
What to Check
Live dealer solved the trust problem convincingly. What it didn't solve โ and was never meant to โ is the house edge. Watching the card leave the shoe doesn't change what the rules pay you for it.
